1997 Tudor Blue Submariner 79190

$0.00
sold out

In the world of Rolex, it is known that a blue smurf Submariner is only made out of solid gold, or two-tone, but never in stainless steel. The Tudor Submariner 79190 is a hidden gem amongst collectors, having a beautiful deep blue finish on its bezel insert and dial, normally only found in two tone or solid gold models within the Rolex Submariner line.

The Tudor Submariner reference 79190 is the last generation of the Tudor line-up in the 90s that make use of crown and case back from Rolex. This transitional 79190 has the best of both worlds, combining both vintage and modern elements within the Submariner range: flat hour markers, a deep blue insert and dial, Mercedes hands, folded link 93150 bracelet (fits up to 7.5” in wrist), and a sapphire crystal.

Before this came into my possession, this particular watch has only had one owner, a key figure in one of Florida’s cities, since it was purchased in 1998 (B89 serial dates it to a 97/98 production). The watch was last serviced in January 2019. The hands are also service replacements. The dial and bezel insert remain original tritium. The watch shows very honest wear on the case, and it has a watch that has been used since.

It isn’t necessary to splurge on a precious metal Rolex to get the blue Submariner — this reference allows a Rolex heritage Submariner, at a fraction of the cost.
