1997 Rolex Explorer 14270

$0.00
sold out

The year 1997-1998 was an interesting transitional time for Rolex. During this period, tritium had been phased out by the manufacturer. It also marked the introduction of luminova as its luminous materials. Many of the watches during this time period, bearing the U serial, are fitted with luminova using leftover tritium dials. As is the case with most Rolex errors, it has become somewhat of a collectible given the low production count of these. This U serial Explorer is an example born with a luminova but tritium-marked dial. The case and bracelet, with all its nicks and bumps, remain sharp and unpolished.
