1974 Rolex Datejust 1601 Mosaic Blue Dial

This two-tone datejust from 1974 has the desirable shantung (“woven silk”) or mosaic dial in blue. This blue mosaic dial variant, while already rare, is even harder to find in the 36mm datejust configuration and is more commonly seen in 34mm dials. The tritium lume plots on the dial remaining a puffy, deep yellow. Additionally a “step” or “pie-pan” dial, an aesthetically pleasing feature of datejusts from the late 60s/early 70s. The datewheel has the original open 6 and 9s.
