Incredible to find a watch in this condition after nearly 70 years of its production! The reference 6634 was marketed by Rolex as the Golden Egg, due to the shell of 240 microns of 14k gold over the stainless steel case. The rare and highly unusual sharp hour markers are reminiscent of “Shark’s Teeth” and have been coined as such. Dauphine hands complete the ‘sharp’ aesthetic of the watch. The lume on the dial as well as on the hands have developed such a deep yellow patina. The dial has remained in such fantastic condition, despite some aging on the champagne dial. The bezel remains well defined, with minor signs of light polishing on the gold shell case. It comes with box, as well as its old handwritten papers dated 1958.
