1989 Rolex Submariner 16610
This L serial Rolex Submariner ref 16610 has aged and has been preserved incredibly well. The serial dates it to 1989, which makes it one of the first 16610 Submariners ever produced. The dial has a vivid yellow patina. The case remains thick and unpolished, with original chamfers clear and lug holes sharp. The bracelet remains very tight especially for its age.
When I received this watch, it had been tucked away from use, with its oils dried up. I took it to my watchmaker who had performed a service overhaul on the movement. The movement is under warranty for one year with my independent watchmaker. The watch is running beautifully at COSC specs. The watch is not fit for 1000 feet of diving, however.
This is a fantastic example of one of the first production years of the reference 16610 Submariner, as evidenced by its sharp case and vivid patina.
