1988 Rolex GMT-Master 16750 Pepsi with RSC Card

$0.00
sold out

This example is the likely the last production year of the 16750 GMT-Master with the plexi-crystal. The 5-digit 16750 was the first reference of the GMT-Master to introduce a quick-set date. The case is very strong and appears to have been refinished professionally, with strong chamfers on the lugs. The bracelet has signs of use 12 o’clock to the watch, which is the side most prone to contact. Coming from the late 80s, the watch has a glossy dial with white gold surrounds on its hour markers. The dial has aged to a custard patina, with the hands starting to age and are a shade lighter than the dial — this is once again a common trait for watches within the 80s/90s era, as hand sets and dials were produced separately and then assembled in the factory. The hands and dial are both original tritium lume. The watch comes on an original blue and red “Pepsi” insert with a blue back from the late 80s, which is period correct for this particular model. The insert shows some fading on the outer edges, also a common characteristic for the 16750 inserts. Overall, a very appealing and gorgeous neo-vintage piece, and is a wonderful example to add to the collection.
