1973 Rolex Datejust 1601 'Espresso'

Never seen anything like it! This humble Datejust appears to have started its life as a rhodium gray dial, and over time has developed an extremely even, copper-ish patina. Tritium plots remain round and full, with the hands matching beautifully to an even creamy yellow. What are the chances of that happening to another watch? Not much. A true expression of time. The watch just received a full service overhaul on the movement through my Pasadena neighbors at LA Watchworks — with 1 year warranty (vintage, not water resistant)

Serial - Year: 3.5m ~1973

Bracelet - Strap: jubilee

Box - Papers - Accessories: Watch only

Service History: 4/2023 via Los Angeles Watchworks
